Honorable E. Jay Saunders Hon. E. Jay Saunders has been the Deputy Premier of the Turks & Caicos Islands (TCI) since 20th Feb. 2021. Currently he holds portfolio responsibility for the Ministry of Health & Human Services, which includes managing the TCI Government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ministry of Health & Human Services is the largest TCI Government department (by expenditure), with a FY21/22 budget of US$81.4M.
Prior to entering politics, Hon. Saunders was an experienced CEO with a demonstrated history of working and succeeding in the telecommunications and FinTech industries. He is skilled in launching and managing start-ups and greenfield networks, and he has a love for Cognitive Science and Computer Programming with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Hon. Saunders is intrigued by Middle Eastern politics and Greek Mythology. He is an avid reader and a lover of music, with his favorite artists being Andrea Bocelli and Yanni.
